Churchill's Fine Cigars opened in Phoenix in 1995 — the first premium cigar lounge in the Valley. For over three decades it has operated under the same local ownership, with the same philosophy: carry the right brands, maintain the humidor properly, and treat the people who come in like they know what they're doing.

What started as a single Phoenix location has grown to four across the metropolitan area — Phoenix (Arcadia), Scottsdale (North Scottsdale & Loop 101), Ahwatukee (Ray Rd & I-10), and Glendale (59th Ave & Loop 101) — each operating as a full cigar shop and lounge with indoor smoking permitted at all locations.

Churchill's is not a chain. Every location is locally owned and staffed by people with genuine knowledge of what they sell.

Davidoff Appointed Merchant

Churchill's Fine Cigars holds Davidoff Appointed Merchant status — a designation held by a select network of retailers worldwide who meet Davidoff's strict standards for humidor maintenance, product assortment, staff training, and customer service.

Being a Davidoff Appointed Merchant means access to the full Davidoff portfolio, including limited-edition and age-statement releases that are allocated only to approved retailers. It also means Davidoff representatives inspect and verify our humidor conditions and staff expertise on an ongoing basis. It is not a title available for purchase — it is earned and maintained.

For customers, it is a direct signal that the humidor is stocked, staffed, and maintained to a verifiable international standard.

Tobacconists' Association of America — TAA Member

Churchill's is an active member of the Tobacconists' Association of America (TAA), the premier trade organization for premium handmade-cigar retailers in the United States. TAA membership requires meeting baseline standards for humidor quality, staff knowledge, and retail operations.

The practical benefit for customers: TAA member retailers receive access to TAA Exclusive cigars — small-batch, limited-production blends created specifically for TAA member stores by manufacturers including Arturo Fuente, Davidoff, Padrón, My Father, Alec Bradley, and others. These cigars are not available at non-member retailers, regardless of size or volume. Churchill's carries them at all four locations while supply lasts.

Casa de Montecristo — Affiliated Lounge

Churchill's is a Casa de Montecristo affiliated lounge, part of a national network of destination cigar experiences recognized for their humidor quality and lounge atmosphere. This affiliation provides preferred access to exclusive and early-release Montecristo cigars not available through standard retail channels.

Legal Indoor Smoking — Arizona Compliance

Arizona's Smoke-Free Arizona Act (A.R.S. § 36-601.01) generally prohibits indoor smoking at bars and restaurants. However, the Act provides a specific exemption for retail tobacco stores that operate under complete floor-to-ceiling physical separation with dedicated ventilation systems that prevent smoke infiltration into adjacent smoke-free areas.

Churchill's four locations are structured and licensed under this exemption. All four are fully compliant, licensed indoor smoking venues. Phoenix and Scottsdale also operate full craft-cocktail bars within these legally separated retail spaces — one of a very small number of venues in Arizona permitted to do both simultaneously.

During Phoenix summers, when outdoor smoking patios at hotels and restaurants become unusable in 110-degree heat, Churchill's climate-controlled indoor lounges remain fully operational. This is a meaningful and rare distinction in the Arizona market.

All locations strictly enforce 21+ age verification for tobacco purchases in compliance with DLLC regulations and Arizona Senate Bill 1402.

The Lounge as a Regular Destination

Churchill's is not a place most people visit once. The Phoenix and Scottsdale lounges in particular have developed a consistent community of regulars — local professionals, business owners, collectors, and industry people who treat the lounge as a reliable, low-key anchor in their week. A place to decompress after work, bring a client for a real conversation, or spend an hour doing something that actually requires attention.

The atmosphere at Churchill's is deliberately not a sports bar. No blaring televisions, no high-volume promotional nights. The lounge is quiet, comfortable, and consistent — the same experience on a Tuesday in July as on a Friday in January. For people who return regularly, that consistency is the product.

Walk-in humidor access is available to all customers at each location. Staff maintain conditions at the industry standard of 65–70% relative humidity and 65–70°F. Serious collectors and aficionados know what to look for — Churchill's holds itself to the standard that makes repeat visits worth it.
